About Shaila

Architect by training. Photographer by instinct.

My way of seeing has been shaped as much by living and working across different cultures as by architecture. And photography taught me to respond to what happend within a space, the energy of a crowd, the intensity of sport, the character of a person and the details that give a place its identity.

Today, I photograph events, portraits, sports and architecture, moving between quiet observation, clear direction and fast anticipation. Different subjects, but the same intention: to create images that feel clear, alive and connected to the moment.

Based in Delft, I work across the Netherlands and occasionally abroad.
